Meet the Frisco Team Behind Mainspring Garage Door Co.
These are the people who answer your call at midnight, show up in a Mainspring truck, and fix what’s broken. Every technician on our Frisco crew trains under the same code we started with in 1984: Krafted right, Every time, Your home first, Standing behind it. Carl Dutton still hires personally. No one works on your door who wouldn’t work on his own.
Our People
Carl Dutton, Owner
I started this company in 1984, naming it for the mainspring, the part that carries the full weight of a door. Forty-two years later, I’m still answering the phone some nights, still driving to jobs when we’re short-handed, still refusing to hire anyone I wouldn’t trust in my mother’s garage. I sign every 90-Day Done Right Promise myself. If we miss something, you don’t argue with a manager. You call me. I grew up in North Texas, and I’ve raised three kids here. When I’m not working, I’m usually fixing something else I probably shouldn’t have bought.
Marcus T., Lead Technician
Marcus has been with us eleven years, which in this trade means he’s seen every failure mode a garage door can throw at you. He specializes in torsion spring systems and carries a full set of springs for Clopay, Amarr, and Wayne Dalton doors on his truck at all times. He’s factory-certified on LiftMaster and Genie openers, and he’s the one we send when a door has been “fixed” three times by someone else and still won’t stay shut. Off the clock, Marcus restores vintage motorcycles in his shop near Little Elm. He says the patience transfers.
Elena R., Senior Installer
Elena joined us after eight years in commercial door systems, and she brought a rigor to residential work we didn’t know we were missing. She measures twice, explains once, and won’t let a crew leave until the door runs quiet and the photo eyes are perfectly aligned. She’s our go-to for full replacements in Frisco’s newer developments, where builders often spec doors that barely clear a lifted truck. Elena lives in The Trails and spends weekends trail-running at Arbor Hills. She claims the heat tolerance helps in July attics.
James K., Service Coordinator
James is the live voice you get when you call (945) 495-3756 at 2 a.m. on a Sunday. He’s been with us four years, knows every technician’s location in real time, and can talk a homeowner through safely disengaging a stuck opener while help is en route. Before us, he dispatching for a plumbing company, so he’s unshockable. James keeps a whiteboard in the Frisco office tracking every open job, every part order, every callback. He drinks too much coffee and coaches his daughter’s softball team in McKinney. He schedules around games when he can, and when he can’t, he apologizes sincerely.
Darius P., Apprentice Technician
Darius is in his second year with us, working toward his journeyman certification under Marcus’s supervision. He’s already proficient on cable replacements and roller swaps, and he’s the one who crawls into the tight corners the rest of us don’t fit anymore. Darius grew up in Frisco, graduated from Centennial High School, and still lives with his parents while he saves for his own place. He asks more questions than anyone on the crew, which is exactly why we hired him. His first solo job was a spring replacement on a thirty-year-old Raynor door in Preston Ridge. Marcus checked his work. It was clean.
One Standard, Every Job
Every person on this page works under the same written guarantee Carl started putting on invoices in 1984. The 90-Day Done Right Promise means if anything we touched isn’t right, we come back. No paperwork to file, no dispute to win, no charge. Our trucks carry springs, cables, openers, and hardware for every major brand, so most jobs finish in one visit. The flat price is stated before any work begins. You’ll never get a bill with numbers that weren’t discussed.
We don’t use an answering service. We don’t send subcontractors. We don’t hire technicians we haven’t background-checked and uniformed ourselves. The K.E.Y.S. code isn’t a poster in the break room. It’s how we decide who joins this team, who stays, and who represents Mainspring in your driveway.
If you need us, call (945) 495-3756. A live person answers, 24/7. We’ll be there when we say.
